The City of Muncie Extends Partnership with Language Matters

The LM Team has partnered further with the City of Muncie to bring language access to Muncie!

Following the Muncie municipal study, which was announced in March 2025, Language Matters collaborated with the City of Muncie to select language-access solutions that best fit the city’s needs. The solutions were chosen based on the local data collected by Language Matters throughout the study phase. 

Examples of the solutions that will be implemented include the translation of city forms and documents to Spanish, the launch of Muncie’s Spanish social-media presence, and the subtitling of community-update videos. These changes will enable city departments to interact more efficiently with Spanish-speaking community members.

The solutions implemented will improve communication, support safety, and prioritize making important updates accessible to as many community members as possible. Muncie’s growing population of non-English speakers will benefit significantly from the partnership, as many will now have access to written resources in their own language. 

The Language Matters team is already hard-at-work implementing these initiatives, and is excited to take on the meaningful challenge of providing access once again!
