This year has been a whirlwind of travel, training, and teaching for the LM team. From LM’s first engagement of the year in March at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Washington D.C.) to the year’s final trip to the 2025 AIM IDEAS summit (French Lick, Indiana)- the LM team has been on the move.

This October also marked the company’s first-ever engagement in Kansas, where CEO Lucas Fonseca and Director of Communication Bethany Fonseca shared about LM’s successful data-based language-access initiatives in the midwest.

Concerning the experience, Bethany reflects, “We continue to be impressed by the capable leaders we encounter across the midwest, who put their communities first time and time again. The welcoming nature of conference attendees, so typical of the Midwest, also endeared them to us. We truly look forward to partnering with municipalities in Kansas.”

The session led by LM team members, entitled “Engage Effectively: Language Access Planning and Cultural Strategies”, equipped local leaders to connect more effectively with their non-English speaking populations.

The conference took place in Overland Park, Kansas, in early October. Attendees included mayors, managers and administrators, clerks, department heads, and council-members and commissioners.

Such transformative collaborations are fostered through municipal-league conferences, and the LM team thanks the Kansas Municipal League for hosting this productive and informative event.
